We had a great time chatting to head brewer, and owner of Shifty Lizard Brewing Co, Lee Stone.  

We spoke about his journey from homebrewing, (which he began at 16 years old mind you), to owning, and operating the Shifty Lizard Tap House in Willunga, South Australia.  

We spoke about Lee's past, current Shifty Lizard projects, the benefits of canning beer over bottles, as well as future plans for the venue.  

We tried three amazing beers, and spoke about their flavour profiles, and the inspiration for brewing these beers.

This episode involves all things 'IPA'. Papa Yak, Vike and Dudley will be offering up some home brewed beer. Yak is serving up an 'American IPA' finished off with Kviek yeast, as well as a 'No-Oats-NEIPA'. Vike and Dudley are serving up a ‘Rye IPA’ which, due to a dodgy element on brew day, had to boiled in 3 different pots on a kitchen stove. We provide some tasting notes, critique the recipes, and provide feedback on how to modify the recipe to perfect the beers during 'Segment 1'. You'll find the recipes by following the links below. In 'Segment 2' we compare the homebrewed beers to their commercial equivalents, and we finalise the show in 'Segment 3' by 'Getting to Know ‘Simmo'. What a shambles this one was. Simmo and I decided to thoroughly enjoy ourselves, all at the expense of the listening public. We know this one's a bt shit, but, they all kind of are. Our apologies. This month it's about 'Porter's'. I share my 'Robust Coffee Porter' with the lads during 'Segment 1'. Full disclosure, the beer didn't turn out as expected due to brewer error. I decided to go to town with the coffee, which overpowered the beer. I have since brewed this again following the recommendations of the recipe designer, and the beer was brilliant. This is a Homebrew Fanatics recipe. We'll put theiur information at the bottom of the description. In 'Segment 2' we compare my homebrewed beer to it's closest commercial equivalent. We finalise the show in 'Segment 3' by 'Getting to Know Luke'. We learn which beer was Luke's 'First Craft Beer'.
