In this episode of Yeah The Gals I sat down with my old colleague and gorgeous friend Rach Hart.⁠

Rach is currently an Executive Podcast Producer at Nova Entertainment in Sydney and has spent the last decade literally living and breathing media.⁠

She's worked in multiple roles across the radio and podcasting world, and what I love about Rach, is that she is not afraid to admit that scoring the dream role of Breaky Show Announcer, isn't more important than having the right balance. ⁠

She openly shares her struggles with mental health, and how she leant on the people around her to get through some pretty tough times in what she thought was the peak of her career. ⁠

I've known Rach for many years and I can say through all the hats she has worn in media, she is 100% her true authentic self.

In this episode of Yeah The Gals, I got to chat with the beautiful Steph Davies.

9 years ago Steph, her husband Nik and 12 month old daughter Marlowe all landed in Australia to give the coastal lifestyle a crack.

What was meant to be a 2 year adventure, has now turned into the creation of a life and home she feels so grateful to share with her now 2 girls, along with the many connections, friendships and successful careers that her and Nik have made.

With a background in art & fashion, a passion for giving woman a space to feel confident and welcomed, in 2018 Steph opened her amazing luxe fashion boutique, La Bohème Lifestyle.

Fast forward 5 years, she’s worked incredibly hard to offer thoughtfully curated fashion brands, homewares, and wellness for the coastal woman in mind. Having built up a huge following through the commitment of personally supporting her loyal customers, Steph has gone on to create her very own label La Bohème girls, that continues to evolve and grow.

Steph openly shares the challenges of balancing so many roles as a mum and a business owner, all while trying to find time for her fam, her friends and most importantly herself. Its not easy to do all these things, especially when your own family is on the other side of the world, but Steph does it all with a big heart, a big smile and warm, supportive nature.  

We chatted about how easy she finds being everyone else’s cheerleader, but that it can be tough to be her own one too. I think that’s something a lot of us can relate to, so Steph thank you for being so candid, open and a total vibe of a gal to chat with!

⁠In this episode of Yeah The Gals, it is very special, it is very emotional, it is with a beautiful friend and all round super-Mum - Sarah Tarasenko. ⁠In 2017, Sarah and her now husband James, packed up their life on the Central Coast and ventured 1200kms to the mining town of Broken Hill, where Sarah chased her dream of working as a primary school teacher. ⁠

It wasn’t long before James proposed and after an epic few years, memories and making some life long friendships, they made their way back to the place they called home. ⁠In 2019, now living in the home they bought to renovate, Sarah and James were married, and the following year they got the exciting news they would be expecting their first mini Tarasenko.⁠

At her 12 week scan, she was told her little bub was measuring smaller than normal. At 25 weeks and after some extra scans, blood tests and monitoring in Sydney, Sarah mentioned to the nurse that she was experiencing strong pains. It was at that appointment, she was diagnosed with preeclampsia and Hellp syndrome – she was also told she was not leaving the hospital. ⁠At just 26 weeks, Sarah and James' beautiful son Archie was born via emergency c-section – and what followed is many challenges, pain & heartache. ⁠But what it showed is that Sarah, James and beautiful Archie are incredible strong, brave and full of SO much love & determination.⁠It was an absolute honour for Sarah to sit with me and tell her story.

This episode of Yeah The Gals is a super special one for me, as I sat down with my beautiful Mum, Julie.

Mum spent her mid 20’s and 30’s looking after her 3 bloody awesome kids, before taking on some part time admin gigs once we all grew our wings and left the nest.

In 2019 she took a plunge, stepped outside her comfort zone and created her own online business, Cozy Corner Quilts.

With her own passion for quilting, she started selling to a like minded group of people, who have not only kept her very busy but have become loyal customers and friends.

She shows that its never to late to start something new, you just have to find what you love.

In this episode of Yeah the gals, I chat with specialist women’s therapist, Abbey Paterson.

For the last decade, Abbey has worked in multiple areas within the community as a social worker and for 6 of those years, has been an accredited mental health therapist.

From trauma and domestic violence, pre and post-natal care, emergency department social work, traumatic birth therapist and therapist for families that experience the loss of a baby in pregnancy, she has given a lot of herself to help support those that need it.  

After having children of her own and identifying her true passion was providing care and empowerment to women, Abbey moved into private practice and created Woman Kind Therapy.  

If you are anything like me, after listening to Abbey’s experience, her thoughts and words of absolute wisdom, you will find her so inspiring!

I felt like I just wanted to wave a flag that said YES GIRL in the studio the whole time we were chatting.

This episode of Yeah The Gals comes with a mammoth introduction, as I chat with Kelly George, who is a Registered Cosmetic Nurse and founder of Kelly George Aesthetics in Tamworth.

This gal has been in the business of Aesthetics for 16 years and has successfully created one of Australia's leading skin and anti-aging destinations.From managing her team, treating patients, being a panelist and speaker at local and international conferences - she is a multi-business award winner and now offers mentorships to other professionals within the industry.

In 2019, Kelly launched KGA body, Australia's first full range of active skincare, specifically designed for the body.

Like she isn't busy enough, she also has an awesome and informative podcast of her own, Skin & Sass.

Kelly is honest about the shift from a consistent pay cheque killing it in the corporate world, to up-rooting her life in Sydney and heading to the country town of Tamworth to start a Nursing degree in her 30's.

Safe to say the leap of faith has absolutely paid off.

In the first official episode of Yeah The Gals, I sat down with a colleague, friend and media powerhouse, Maz Compton.

15 year old Maz literally manifested her dream TV gig and became one of the first VJ’s to launch MTV Australia’s Total Request Live in 2004.

Fast forward 20 years, with an absolute whirlwind of a career, Maz is now radio breaky host of the Maz and Matty show, podcast creator of ‘Last Drinks’ and about to launch her book on the same topic. She’s an advocate for sobriety, changing the way we view alcohol one poddy episode at a time.  

What I love about Maz, is she is so candid and honest about the challenges she has faced in both her professional and personal life, but that she has consistently worked super hard and totally backed herself along the way.

After a break from living and working in the celeb and boozie infused fast lane, now in a new season of life, her son Henry is a big reason she chose to jump back behind the radio mic and continue to kick ass in the media space.

This gal is a bloody legend and it was a privilege to sit down with her to talk all about it!
