For this one we're joined by Timothy Mitchell, author of the Carbon Democracy: Political Power in the Age of Oil (2011, Verso Books)who talks to us about how oil became central to the restructuring of the global economy after WW2, and then became central to the unraveling of that economy during the late 1960s and early 70s. We also look at what the future of energy politics might look like in the years to come.
