Another album listening party this week! Carrying on from last week's theme of pub rock, we turned to the post punk it helped spawn in the 1980s with one of the great English post punk bands, Gang of Four. Blending academic theory, liberal thought and philosophy, musical techniques borrowed from film, advertisement, slogans, and an undeniably catchy brand of dance punk, we listen to the forward-thinking Leeds four piece's second album, 1981's Solid Gold.

We talk about its legacy, and listen to the debut album by one of the best bands of the era, Dr. Feelgood, "Down By The Jetty", in honour of their pioneering guitarist Wilko Johnson, who passed away this week.

On the Yellow Brit Road, we are celebrating the return of live music after 2 years off, as the summer of live music and festivals comes to an end. We're looking back at 4 months of hearts racing, crowds singing, friendships formed, memories created, ordinary people turning into heroes and gods for 45 minutes.

Throwing back to the first of the summer festivals that kicked off at the end of March, the 6 Music Festival in Cardiff. We listened to Manic Street Preachers' homecoming set at Clwb Ifor Bach, 32 years after the band were scheduled to play the venue and had to cancel.
