This week on the Yellow Brit Road... a chance to wind down, relax and forget the world, temporarily. Primarily the last of those.
Drown out your anxiety with the tales and mishaps of cute bear cubs, a great interview and... merch?!
We had music old and new; one of the best alternative bands in the world, Velvet Underground on this week, 7-year-old Welsh singer and guitarist Arianwen, Czech-label-Italian "weird" rock trio Julinko, a new single from the Kaiser Freaks Kaiser Chiefs, London based Hey Colossus and pianist Duval Timothy!
This week's submission was in from Fareham, UK, courtesy rock and roll band The Straights. Keep an eye out for them, they're gonna be big!
If you'd like to get involved with the show, now is a good time! Through November and December, CFRC is running its annual funding, and each week there's something new to get involved with, and tons of great prizes from Kingston community stores! Find out all about it on cfrc.ca, and if you'd like to promote your music on the show, tweet @YellowBritCFRC or email [email protected].
We read a powerful article written by former Noisettes fromtwoman Shingai, whose latest album Too Bold is out now.
Masala Chai this week was courtesy Toronto thrash punks the OBGMs who have a new album, and Montreal punk band Super Punk. Look out for my interview with them in the coming weeks!
Find this week's playlist here (and support artists directly through Bandcamp and others if you can!)
