Kirby and Laura brainstorm their rules of #inclusion. These rules include: saying yes, being flexible, identifying barriers and solutions, never escalating people, and never giving up. They discuss the need for #empathy and #understanding, considering #biases, applying #udl and rebuttals on pushback they have received over time.
Join us for Part 2 where we interview Rachel Lack from Purling Place Productions. She is based in #Arizona and talks about the impact of Miracle League baseball and #adaptive sports for her son Henry. We discuss the inclusive ways that enrichment activities can help to build confidence, inclusion, and improve the overall lives of our kids. While we all agree that the safety net of special and adaptive programming helps us to feel more welcome, we also touch on making accommodations to include kids with their typical peers.

In this episode, the hosts of the Yes Day Inclusion Podcast, Laura & Kirby discuss their visits to #Disney Theme Parks over the years and the impact of the Disability Access Pass #DAS over time. Compared to the full-service accommodations originally made by the parks with the Guest Assistance Card, their #access points took a dip for several years but with the new system that rolled out in Fall of 2021, it seems they are prioritizing the #needs of their vulnerable populations and moving towards improving their DAS system...but we need to have a hard conversation about #equity.
Correction: Laura went in 2013, not 2014. Mom brain over here!
