Many of us take better care of our pets than we do of ourselves. I've been listening to Jordan B. Peterson's book, 12 Rules for Life, lately and one of his rules struck a cord that got me thinking down a rabbit hole. Rule Two: Treat yourself like someone you are responsible for helping.
Why do we do this? Why do we not take care of ourselves as well as we take care of others? What would your world be like if you started to treat yourself more like you treat your dog?
Time management is a critical skill in life. Learning how to be productive 24/7 is a game changer to understand how to best use your days and times for YOU. Spoiler alert!! Some things will not come easy and will need to be adapted to your own life regularly.
We all have negative stories we tell ourselves on repeat in our minds. Often they come from things that happened while we are a child. Yet we still hold those things far into our adulthood way longer than we need to.
I tend to get stuck feeling unproductive and unfocused. What do I do when this happens? What are some things that you do that help to inspire you and make you feel ready to take on the world?! Knowing what works for you makes a big difference so that you can actively choose what to do next to help yourself get back in the flow. Listen in for my top tips I use to change things up and push forward.
Sometimes we feel down and out, maybe in a rut, or maybe just straight up BLAH! That's ok, but have you considered changing things up for yourself and taking the time to make yourself feel good about the way you look? Is it the right time, finally! to dive into something you have been thinking about but maybe have been afraid to pull the trigger? Let's talk about it.
In the 1st interview of the Yes You Mae podcast we chat with David Lawhorn author of Walking Like a Giant and a keynote speaker. David shares his thoughts on striving to achieve greatness everyday with a winning mindset and mentor. I highly recommend his book, which you can check out here: http://giantspeaks.com/book/
This episode was recorded as part of the 77 Day Video Challenge where we went live on Facebook 77 days in a row talking life lessons. This was the 2nd time I had someone one to interview but the 1st interview I am putting up here (the audio on the first needs some more love!) This challenge inspired the creation of this podcast and some of the days were too inspiring not to share here as well!
There are so many things we get judged for by others- sometimes all the same thing on either side of the spectrum. We deserve to treat ourselves better and understand that all the things we have been through, make us who we are today. Think of your life like this, and let go of the judgement from yourself and others. That, my dear, is what YOU deserve.
