Compared to my peers I was fatter and sadder

With loneliness, possessed

The thoughts that consumed me made me depressed

To this day it sometimes seems irrelevant how I've progressed

In the last few months

Since I got back

I haven't been smokin' blunts

But the bud has still got my back

Basically been vapin on the daily to cure the maddness

But the sadness made me

I may be crazy

But this miracle cure is amazing

The side effect is creativity

And seeing life through a new lens

Neurons fire electricity

And they sure love the cleanse

This stuff, it makes me smile

And sink deeper into poses

Greener than a crocodile

As you inhale, breathe through your noses

Feel the expansion

First in the lungs and then in the mind

It's like cleaning your mansion

For all you have to be grateful, use the bud to remind

For better or worse

You can be your greatest curse

Or most benevolent ally

But I can spoil the end: you're gonna die

This is not to sound morbid

But offer more thoughts assorted

Beyond the perpetual happiness reported

By the highlight reels we look at when we're bored

No wonder so many are neurotic

We educate our youth

For an Industrial Age

You can hate the truth

But thats like lockin' yourself in a steel cage

Forced to sit down and learn things that don't benefit you

And we're still not patient so that was useless too

They said it'd help make me a better me

Because I studied for a test

Then promptly forgot

Twenty years I spent in that system

Because I cared about the opinions of peers

And now that I'm gone, I don't miss them

But the system was made

For a different era

So now what do we do?

You gotta make your own school

You must understand what you think is cool

Coding?

Then code

The system was made for you to learn to be told

To show up and bide your time

If you studied history

Then you would see

What a magical time it is to be

To be alive

Not just survive

But to thrive

To go after what you want
