A fun, lighthearted, gender-swapped romp

A someone whose caffeine fix of choice is pop, not coffee, I love the idea of Gender Pop - a fizzy, fruity soft drink that has the power to transform your gender for up to 6 hours. All you have to do is drink, think feminine thoughts, and enjoy.

It is a decidedly silly story, with the soda having the power to change clothes as well as bodies, but it is a lot of fun. Given its lighthearted nature, Rebecca Cromer is a perfect narrator for Jessie Ash's story, capturing the tone and the spirit perfectly. I genuinely smiled all the way through, especially with the cute little twist at the end.

While there is a fun bit of heterosexual flirting here, the sexual element is largely lesbian-oriented, with a little seduction involved. It is undeniably sexy, but not as explicit as you would find in so many other stories within the genre.

Now, if you will excuse me, I have an order to place for case of Gender Pop.

Holds your attention and sucks you in!!

Pearl is pole dancing when she meets Owen. He offers her an opportunity to make 100,000 for 30 days worth of services in the Fox pit a club where the rich come to have their sexual fantasies fulfilled. In need of money Pearl can't resist the $$$. She is given a contract and told to have her attorney look it over. Not having an attorney, Pearl commissions Greg, a stoner who barely passed his bar exam because he's the only person she knows that will help her in spite of her financial situation. Greg explains the contract and advises her not to take the job. While Pearl chooses to remain naive and bury her head in the sand when it comes to heeding his warning. With a set schedule, living quarters, and all her needs being provided.. Pearl chooses to blindly sign the contract.

After arriving at the Fox Pit, she discovers thatshe's in over her head and isn't so sure it's worth it anymore. While this billionaire's playground appears to be a hot erotic fantasy from the outside, behind closed doors.. it's a dark hell where some men go to far. Like most jobs in the sex industry, it's not a romantic fairytale. Not all the male characters in this book are bad. Some offer kindness and comfort while others make you want to cringe. Trying to decide who the good guys are isn't as obvious as you think.

This listen is "similar to" and reminds me of the 1999 movie "Eyes Wide Shut" with Tom Cruise. This sexy raw, mysterious book was hard to pause. It's unpredictable, well written and perfectly narrated. The only negative the ending.... it comes out of nowhere, slaps you in the face and leaves on a cliffhanger. I was given this book in exchange for my honest review. I enjoyed the book and would have gladly given up a credit for it on my own... But, I Would have been pissed once I realized it's not a stand alone. If not for the ending, this would have been a 5 star listen. I hate being forced into buying the next book! Now I'm hooked so I have to know what happens next
