In the year of our Galdalf, 1993, a little sequel movie came out that furthered a storyline we all came to know and love. That story was the tournament film, Best of the Best. Tommy overcoming his family strife to defeat the feared Tae Kwon Do master, Dae Han in the (oddly titled) World Karate Tournament.

It is not as good as the first film.

Do listen to our talk-through, however, as we have fun chatting and laughing about all the changes (warranted and not so much) to the storyline and, of course Ralf Moeller's rubber face.

It's hard to believe 1989 was 35 years ago. Damn...we's old. Aaaaaaaanyway, this movie still holds up and has all the John Woo-isms that we've come to know and love. Doves everywhere, endless ammunition in handguns, Mexican standoffs left and right...it's glorious. If you think so too, then this film review and talk through is for YOU.

Both Chad and I missed this one in 2004 when it came out in theatres because the marketing made it seem a little wacky. Boy, were we wrong. This is a *great* movie and if you haven't seen it for whatever reason, you really should give it a go.

We had a really fun time talking through this movie and enjoyed it immensely. Enjoy your drive or workout and have a laugh with us and maybe, just maybe, even shed a little tear. We're secure. For real. It's safe here.

In 1984, Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung, and Yuen Bao made a movie. Benny "The Jet" Urquidez is in it. If you haven't seen it, you must. That's really all we have to say on that topic.

We liked this movie a lot, the fights are tremendous and the stunts are insane. You will for sure enjoy our talk through of this classic flick. Sammo jumps out of a damn fast driving van onto a dirt shoulder! And a van jumps an overpass and damn near crushes a dude! Jeeeeee zuz....

Mark Dacascos stars in this movie that capitalized on the capoeira craze that swept the nation in the early 90's (I may have made that "craze" up in my mind). This was 1993 and teenagers everywhere were jengaing and attempting to flip-kick each other around the steamy underbellies of major cities all over North America. Only the Strong was an attempt to get those teens' money.

Good hot Lord. This movie. We had high expectations when the trailer came out, but, sadly, the movie did not deliver in the manner we had hoped. It was still a really fun talk through, however, especially the alteration of the plot to how WE thought it should be.

Next up on our re-posting of episodes before new drops is Jackie Chan's sort of introduction to North American audiences, Rumble in the Bronx. This movie is essentially a live-action cartoon with stunts that will melt your brain trying to figure out how Chan is still alive. Then you go back and watch some older movies of his and you'll never stop wondering. He's been defying death for a long long long time.
