This is a very special podcast. Mike Mercer served in the army in many capacities, many he cannot talk about. Not because it bothers him, but because he did some very unique missions, that many call “Special Ops.” He is legally sworn to never talk about them but does explain the effect they have had on him physically and emotionally. What makes this podcast so unique is Mike explains the value God serves to him and other veterans. Like humor and laughing, God brings the light of healing and dealing with what combat veterans have experienced.

Mike is quite candid about his very difficult childhood. He shares how God was always with him, but many times he didn't pay attention to it. Bob Gretz has been honored by the Associated Press Sports Editors (APSE) and the Pro Football Writers of America (PFWA). He joined the Chiefs Radio Network broadcast team in 1990 and was the pre-game host and sideline reporter until 2008.

Raised in poverty and a history of brokenness, Jeff Lee carried on his family traditions with years of drug addiction, gangs, crime and violence. Having spent many years in and out of jails & prisons, Jeff's last prison sentence was at the United States Penitentiary Leavenworth. After being released from incarceration he joined Connections To Success constructing futures program. His first job was in carpentry that began his pathway to success. Jeff is now a licensed minister and a homeless outreach director. One of his greatest joys is sharing his dad jokes with his 3 kids. His wife, Beki, is a PhD student who is passionate about career development for felons and those with substance abuse disorders.

Jeff is quite candid how he got in and out of his destructive choices. Wait till you hear the deciding moment that turned his life around.

Born and raised in Kansas City, MO, Lonnie McFadden is a unique multi-talented performer who sings, tap dances and plays trumpet. Lonnie has traveled the globe performing and representing Kansas City Jazz at major jazz festivals and shows around the world.

Lonnie and his brother Ronald McFadden (The McFadden Brothers) have shared the stage with the biggest names in show business. There greatest joys have come from going to Kuwait and Iraq to entertain the United States Troops. The McFadden Brothers recently received a Lifetime Achievement Awards from the Jazz Museum.

My intention for this interview was to talk to Dr. Bowen White about his meaningful and playful journey of clowning the world with his great friend, Dr. Patch Adams. Yes, Patch Adams, the man the movie was made about.  But NO, as we started the interview, I find out Bowen traveled throughout Europe, Africa then making his way through Asian countries to end up in The Himalayas.  For one year, Bowen traveled alone, meeting extraordinary people. He did this with only $1200, a backpack, and a sleeping bag. Nothing was planned  - life lessoned learned.
