  • Ep 9 | I'm Using AI as a tool (And I Didn't Want to Admit It)

In this episode of You Know Yourself, I do something I didn't want to admit: I talk about using AI as a sounding board while developing YKY.I know AI can be divisive. So I'm laying it all out — how I use it, why I use it, and the strongest arguments against doing so. Is it outsourcing my mind? Is it just an echo chamber? Is it squeezing original ideas into existing boxes? Or is it a tool — like a carpenter's saw — that helps me sharpen ideas that are fundamentally my own?I don't have a clean answer. But I think the honesty of asking the question matters. This episode also sets the format for the next series of videos: I'll be stress-testing some of the possible vulnerabilities and contradictions within You Know Yourself — defining the issue, looking at the for and against, and inviting you to come to your own resolution. If you like what you're hearing, tell other people about it. Comment, ask questions, and we'll go forward from there.— You Know Yourself is a simple, modern spiritual philosophy developed by Brett. It's not a system. It's not a course. It's not a leader telling you what to do. It's a set of principles for understanding how the human being works — body, mind, soul, spirit — and how the structure around you works. • Ep8 | Summary: Everything So Far — And What's Coming Next

The core content of You Know Yourself in one place — and a signal of what's coming next.

In this episode Brett Dye recaps the two central ideas of You Know Yourself: Body, Mind, Soul and Spirit as four elements of what we already are — and what we can exercise — and the Cycle of Disempowerment as the pattern that keeps most of us from doing so.
More than a summary, this episode makes the connection explicit: the Cycle is the diagnosis, BMSS is what we already have. They're not two separate topics — they're two halves of the same observation.
From here, the series pivots. The next phase examines the weak points, tensions, and charges that could reasonably be brought against everything put forward so far. Brett stress-tests his own framework — openly and in public.

  • Ep 7 | Why We're Not as Evolved as We Think | You Know Yourself

We think we're evolved. Civilised. Sophisticated. But look around — war, poverty, inequality, homelessness, a society that doesn't encourage people to exercise their fullbeing. It doesn't look like we're doing well.

In this episodeBrett Dye explores the ideas from You Know Yourself, examining the symptoms of the Cycle of Disempowerment — what actually happens when the three critical massparadigms take hold in our daily lives. Why we struggle to feel our own feelings, why spirituality has been commercialised into products, and why the system benefits from keeping people disempowered and dependent.

These are observations, not assertions — an invitation to look at what's happening around you and decide for yourself.

  • Ep 6 | Implications & The 3 Critical Mass Paradigms | You Know Yourself

The leader has the cure. The institutesdeliver it. But something else happens in the process — something nobodyannounces and nobody votes for.

In this episode Brett Dye explores theideas from You Know Yourself, unpacking the implications built into thestructure of our institutes, and how they condense into three critical massparadigms that shape the way almost everyone thinks, feels, acts, and chooses:Not Enough, The Other, and Fixed Finite.

Not a conspiracy. Not a plan. Just theaccumulated weight of implications that nobody designed and everybodyinherited.

  • Ep 5 | Institutes & Phenomena | You Know Yourself

A leader claiming to have the cure is only the beginning. For that claim to take hold across society, it needs machinery — buildings, people, systems, ideas.

In this episode Brett Dye explores the ideas from You Know Yourself, examining institutes — the physical structures, organisations and people — and phenomena — the underlying concepts and doctrines — that turn a leader's claim into something you're sent to, walk into, and told to follow. From schools to hospitals to places of worship, the pattern is the same.

Once a cure becomes structural, it stops being a claim. It becomes the way things are — and it becomes very difficult to see for what it is.

  • Ep 4 | Leaders | You Know Yourself

In this episode Brett explores the ideas from You Know Yourself — a simple modern spiritual philosophy offering clear definitions of what Body, Mind, Soul and Spirit actually are, and mapping the Cycle of Disempowerment that keeps most of us from exercising them.

This episode looks at leaders. Not just the obvious ones — politicians, religious figures, heads of state. But anyone who claims to have the cure to a situation. The parent, the boss, the teacher. Anyone who says, explicitly or implicitly: I have the answer, follow me.

The leader's claim creates a follower. And the follower, by definition, is living a life shaped by someone else's answer. Not their own.

Brett explores what this dynamic looks like, why it's so pervasive, and why the cure itself — however well-intentioned — is the very thing that limits the people it's meant to help.

  • Ep 3 | The Cycle of Disempowerment | You Know Yourself

In this episode Brett reads from You Know Yourself — a simple modern spiritual philosophy offering clear definitions of what Body, Mind, Soul and Spirit actually are, and mapping the Cycle of Disempowerment that keeps most of us from exercising them.

This chapter introduces the Cycle of Disempowerment. Not a conspiracy theory — something hiding in plain sight.

Every leader, regardless of their paradigm, makes the same claim: I have the cure. I have the one and only answer. Through their institutions and concepts, they embed three critical mass paradigms into society — Not Enough, The Other, and Fixed Finite. We internalise them. We suffer from them. And then we go looking for an answer. And a leader steps forward.

    The cycle feeds itself.

  • Ep 2 | What Are Body, Mind, Soul and Spirit — Really?

In this episode I offer simple, modern definitions of the four parts of the human being — body, mind, soul and spirit — without complicated language, without anything you need to already believe in.

The body deals with doing, through action. The mind deals with understanding, through thinking. The soul deals with self-awareness, through feelings and emotions. The spirit deals with being, through choices.

Each one has something we can use to exercise it: movement for the body, language for the mind, art for the soul, and choice for the spirit.

I also ask the question that runs through everything: are we actually exercising them? And if not — why not?

That's what the Cycle of Disempowerment is about. Coming in future episodes.

  • Ep 1: Introduction to You Know Yourself

In this first episode I introduce You Know Yourself — a simple modern spiritual philosophy that offers clear definitions of what the body, mind, soul and spirit actually are, and maps the Cycle of Disempowerment that keeps most of us from exercising them freely.

I talk about why I wrote this, what I'm actually offering (two things — no more, no less), and — just as importantly — what this isn't. No course, no group, no fixed answer, no one to follow.

I also touch on the contradiction at the heart of empowerment: the moment someone says "I will empower you," they've already undermined the very thing they're promising.

This is an invitation. Whether you accept it is entirely up to you.

  • Ep 1: Introduction

What does it actually mean to empower yourself? And why does almost every system — every religion, every movement, every belief structure — end up doing the opposite?
In this first episode, Brett Dye introduces You Know Yourself: a simple modern spiritual philosophy that offers clear definitions of what Body, Mind, Soul and Spirit actually are - and maps the pattern that keeps most of us fromexercising them.
This isn't a group, a movement or a programme to follow. It's an invitation to think, feel, do and be for yourself.
