Nobody has run for an Australian of the Year award like Nedd Brockmann.

In 2022, the then 23-year-old electrician set off from Perth's Cottesloe Beach on an extreme marathon to raise money and awareness for homelessness.

46 days later he jogged onto Sydney's Bondi Beach - a 3,952 kilometre journey that raised $2.6 million from thousands of individual contributors inspired by his torturous determination.

Last night, Nedd Brockmann was named the 2026 Young Australian of the Year.
