We're ending our gratitude series with the most interesting of relationships: rivals. Are Andrew and that one tattoo artist at his local coffee shop destined to make their squirrels fight for the rest of their lives? That sentence will make complete sense after you listen to the episode and keep an eye out for our new merch celebrating the father, the son and the holy ghost of art: ROY, G and BIV.
Our celebration of friends, family, mentors and rivals continues as Beth and Andrew define what a mentor is and who they've looked up to through the years. They also come up with an EXCELLENT idea for a bar.

Beth is no longer a con baby. She's just come back from San Diego Comic Con Special Edition and this episode is all about it. Join her and Andrew as they talk about what it's like to table at an artist alley for the first time. Follow along as they develop an excellent gift guide for the artist in your life and learn about why purple is so dang hard to get right on paper. It's a good one!
We're celebrating Friends, Family, Mentors and Rivals this month and today it's all about Family. Lets get serious about why it's so hard to convince your family that it's okay to pursue an art career and listen to the real life testimonials of two 30 year old artists mothers as they attempt to describe just what their children do. We also have our first return guest Sang Lam on to share a funny story from her adolescence.
We're kicking off a month of gratitude starting with our friends! Artists have them even though it doesn't seem like they do. Beth and Andrew color code their relationships, invent a butt oriented sport, and give thanks to a couple people who shaped the trajectory of their lives. They'll also teach you how to make them in the first artist newsletter brainstorm session. Don't do it though, you may go to jail.
Happy Halloween everyone! Throw on your meat scented sweatpants, grab your flashlights and come hang out with us in Paul's basement. We're going to tell spooky stories that are sure to creep you out... if you draw. It's our very first Halloween special and we even get a visit from the omnipotent Artist Council! It's terrifying!

Grab the small shaker of tajin that's inexplicably on your desk because we're talking about life after the incredible weekend of GenCon. Meet Sweaty Cash, wonder what 80's band developed a soda in the 90's that turns your poo blue, and hang out with us as we remember what a great time GenCon was and reassess our personal goals moving forward!

It's GenCon weekend and we're in a house full of artists! Join us on the floor between two bunk beds as we talk with a wonderful cast of people about topics such as: what are the legalities of selling human teeth at a convention? Should babies be allowed to wear cool shoes? And if you've ever wondered what a whispercock sounds like, you're in for a treat. Ask Google what episode has the most laughter and they'll tell you it's this one.
No no no, we're not talking about criminals, we're talking about conventions! What is it like to sell your art at a con? Who can you expect to find at a con? And finally, will con bananas make you pee? All these questions will be answered and more, this week on Your Art Friends!
Sometimes your silly friends have low points and this week both Beth and Andrew have a special discussion about the pressures that come with having an online presence. They also zip back to the 90's to rank all those as-seen-on-TV Art kits like Blow Pens, The Magic Sponge, and the infamous Bedazzler. The full range of emotion is on display in this conversation with Your Art Friends
