It’s a Cardinal kinda week, astrologically speaking. Cardinal, for those who don’t know already, is a “quality,” a way of expression – a style, so to speak. The term is derived from the start of a season, and so, its means initiation, beginnings, leadership, starting, generating. With five planets in Cardinal signs - Cancer, Capricorn and Aries – it’s the sorta week where you really wanna be at the helm, navigating your own ship and calling the shots.
Some of you will lead with the heart - that’s the Cancer energy. Some by the book – Capricorn vibes, and some with pure fire and passion – that’s how an Aries Mars likes it! We may not have the follow-through with so much Cardinal energy around, so we do have to be mindful of finishing what we set out to do. It’s all too easy to get distracted by the next thing and forget all about all those projects we got goin’ on!
Security is also a theme for the week, and we’ll have to balance the conscious desire for emotional security, with the drive for external, professional security – the pile-up of planets in Capricorn and Cancer nudge you gently toward a middle ground, and give you a heads-up not to neglect home and fam in favour of worldly success, however tempting and sexy that is!
With Mercury still Retrograde in watery Cancer, thoughts are moving and changing hella fast, and it can be tough to come to any kind of decision – still – but the good (great!) news is that he moves Direct by the end of the week, and slowly the tides can start turning! It’s a great week to reflect on what’s come up for you over the last three weeks – perhaps a lil’ more empathy, a keener sense of intuition, and some seriously good ideas! Cancer is a sign rich in imagination, and hopefully you’ve already tapped into this creative trend. If you haven’t, there’s still time, so don’t hesitate to break out the old notepad, guitar or paintbrush and explore your inner world. If anything, it’ll help to deal with the sticky emotions that have been playing tricks on you and your beloveds over the last few weeks, right? This ongoing passive-aggressive energy hits a bit of a peak this week as Mercury squares Mars in Aries, and it’s likely you could be more than a little salty, sacrificing your hard-won sense of security for a moment of aggression and fire. Try and temper those words, darling, and don’t let your tongue run away with you. As fun as it can be to put your foot down, you could come across as overbearing and petulant to others. Say what you need to say, but consider your words first. You won’t be sorry.
Finally - and fortunately - the Sun and Neptune trine does smooth things over and there’s a whole more love and forgiveness, just in the nick of time. You’re far more able to say you’re sorry, and to accept an apology. Everything really is going to be okay. Phew!
