NEWSFLASH! Sometimes DMs fudge rolls. But should they? And if so, how much can a DM fudge before the rolls become meaningless? We discuss the idea of making every roll visible to the player and why most DMs still choose to keep some rolls hidden. 

Strikers! Tanks! Healers! Casters! So many choices when building a new character. What do you choose? We run through our favorite classes and party roles, bearing in mind that there are NO WRONG ANSWERS! It's all about preference. But if you've only ever played strikers, maybe this episode will convince you to try a caster for your next character. Who knows?

Combat is the meat and potatoes of D&D, and just like meat and potatoes, it can be bland if you don't add spice. The right combination of monsters can add flavor to an encounter, but there are tons of other ingredients you can toss into your battle stew. Last week, we built Maurice a new level 1 character, busting him out of the high elf fighter rut. Today, we test it in combat against some goblins! How will this new character fare against the GOBSLAUGHT?!

In D&D, modules are like the Ikea furniture of adventures. They're out-of-the-box campaigns you can run your party through, and they generally do a pretty good job. But sometimes theres a few screws missing, and even if there isn't, it's not quite as rewarding as building something from scratch. However, there's nothing that says you can't toss out parts of the instructions and assemble the module however you want—by adding some homebrew. (Note: do not throw out the instructions for your Ikea furniture, unless you want your Morabo to come out lookin' like an Ektorp). 

Starting a new campaign can seem daunting. You've got to build the world, fill it with characters, create stakes, and do it in a way that your players can navigate without getting confused (because you know those idiots aren't taking reliable notes).
