PRE-THANKSGIVING SESSION Sunday, Nov. 20th
We use the first few verses of 2 Peter to introduce the idea of thankfulness, as Peter talks of the “magnified grace and peace” that God has granted us, not to mention the “great and precious promises” that are ours in Christ.
SESSION #9 REFUGEE MILLIONAIRES
We wrap up our study of 1 Peter with a look into chapter 5 and how God uses all things to bring Him glory, and what He is working out in and through each of us in the process.
Session #8 REFUGEE MILLIONAIRES
Joel Sellars, a recently retired pastor (and active member of our Life Group!) shares insights from 1 Peter 4:12-19 in our current series on the Epistle of 1 Peter.
SESSION #7 Refugee Millionaires
We begin in chapter 4 of 1 Peter, and see what Peter has to say about why non-Christians “behave” the way they do; and why they think Christians are so “weird”! More importantly, what mandate does this put on us as believers living out our lives in a culture that doesn’t agree with our accept biblical truth?
Session #6: Refugee Millionaires
We “go deep” in this session, based on 1 Peter 3:13-22, and in the process review some foundational doctrines that form the bedrock of our faith and trust in God’s sovereignty in all things.
MISSIONS SUNDAY: Valerie Forsberg, Ass’t Director of The Bridge @ Green Street
For our annual mission’s Sunday emphasis (church-wide), we were privileged to have Mrs. Valerie Forsberg, the newly appointed Ass’t Director that will oversee the programs and offerings at The Bridge @ Green Street; our new Helping Center (and more) area on the North side. Valerie shared her calling to this position, and her great passion for helping people of need in an informative and inspiring presentation. Next week, we’ll resume with 1 Peter, chapter 3.
Chuck continues the study of 1 Peter and what it means to suffer for Christ instead of suffering for things we actually did in sin here on Earth...
Session #3 REFUGEE MILLIONAIRES
Ever get discouraging by thinking that God is discouraged or disappointed with you? Most believers have at one point or another. The first ten verses of 1 Peter 2 present six powerful “word pictures” of how God views His children. Hopefully these will be an encouragement to you this week…
REFUGEE MILLIONAIRES: A study in 1 Peter (Session #2)
The first session dealt with hope in the midst of trials, today’s lesson addresses the subject of hope in the midst of temptations. Everyone has them, so what does 1 Peter offer in practical advice about how to handle the struggle?
