January 27, 2024 ❤️‍🔥E 16 : Imbolc - In Every Ending Is a New Beginning
Imbolc: is it The End of a Cycle … or The Beginning of a New Cycle? A circle never ends so as the Wheel of the Year turns again, and we discuss our final Sabbat, the cross-quarter fire festival of Imbolc. It’s a good time to reflect back on what took root and grew this year and also start to see which seeds we may decide to plant come the Spring Equinox / Ostara. This is a time of play and exploration.
In this episode, we discuss the triple Celtic Goddess Brigid, how she is associated with this pagan holiday and how the pagan holiday is also tied into Christianity and other traditions like Spring Cleaning and even Groundhog’s Day. It’s a fun episode and we hope you enjoy it!
We’ve had so much fun creating this podcast and sharing it with you over this last year. We hope it’s inspired you to explore, create and manifest more magick into Your Magickal Life. We both feel like although the podcast isn't gone forever, this last sabbat episode would be a perfect resting place so that other creative endeavors can come through our channels. Stay connected with us! Our email and both of our websites are still active and we’ve both got lots of ideas in the works!
We started the planning of this podcast around Imbolc (Feb. 2, 2024) last year, doing a spell, planting seeds, and creating a sigil necklace to see where the year would take us. We started off with weekly shows, but as summer arrived we realized that while we loved the show, we wanted to spend more time enjoying the season. So we dropped back to doing one show for every sabbat. Here we are nearing Imbolc, with our final sabbat episode. We did it! We are so proud of ourselves for sticking it through and finishing something we started! And a reminder, that just because it may look different than you first envisioned, success and value is in the eye of the beholder. Be proud of your journey and whatever twists and turns it may take.

The Wheel of the Year turns again! Lughnasadh (Lu-NAS-sa) or Lammas is celebrated by witches, pagans, and other spiritual folk on or around August 1st. It’s the midway point between summer and autumn, halfway between summer solstice and the fall equinox
… Do you feel the subtle shift of seasons yet? Where are you right now and how are you feeling?
Any holiday that centers around eating bread and drinking beer is good in our books! Since this traditionally marks the cut of the first grain, an easy and practical way to celebrate is by making or eating fresh bread. And why not opt for beer instead of wine tonight? Bake your own bread using your favorite recipe or try one that imbues it with magical ingredients and intentions such as this one: Bread and Protection Spell https://www.justapinch.com/recipes/bread/other-bread/lammas-bread-and-protection-spell.html)
Some other simple ways to bring a little extra magick into your life on Lughnasadh:
– Leave offerings for the Fae on Lammas’ Eve (July 31)
– Have a potluck with family or friends (w/ a bonfire - bonus!)
– Harvest from your garden
– Attend a farmer’s market
– Make an altar honoring the seasonal shift
– Gratitude Journal or Crafts
– Make corn husk dolls
– Spend time in Nature
– Collect seeds
– Make a Pie (blueberry or blackberry) with Protective or Wealth Runes or Sigils
– Simmer Pot Spells imbued with herbs of the season and intentions
– A typical Lammas Loaf Blessing:
"From the fields and through the stones, into fire, Lughnasadh Bread, as the Wheel turns may all be fed. Goddess Bless."
Lughnasadh reminds us to pause and reflect on our accomplishments and growth so far this year. It’s time to observe the “seeds” you planted in Ostara and begin to harvest the fruits of your labor. It is a time to express gratitude for the abundance currently in your life, assess where you may need more attention, and make room for more abundance! This is only the beginning, the first of the 3 harvest festivals. There is still time to readjust or simply to let things be and continue their growth cycle. Your endeavors and various crops will ripen when they are ready.
