Ep 61 - Have you ever wondered why your mind can feel impossible to quiet down?
Maybe it happens at night, when you’re exhausted but the moment your head hits the pillow, your thoughts start racing. Or maybe it happens when you’re facing something new — a new job, a difficult conversation, a big transition, or anything that pushes you outside your comfort zone.
Suddenly, the doubts get louder. You start imagining everything that could go wrong. You question whether you can handle it. And sometimes, the discomfort becomes so strong that the easiest answer seems to be avoiding it altogether.
But what if your brain isn’t broken?
What if it’s simply running an old program — one it has learned and reinforced over time?
In this episode of Your Mindset, Your Power, we’re going to explore the science behind why our brains respond this way, how repeated thoughts and behaviors can become automatic patterns, and something incredibly hopeful: your brain can continue to change.
I’ll show you why doing the hard thing while it still feels uncomfortable can be such an important part of building a stronger mindset — and why every small step gives your brain new evidence about what you’re capable of.
We’ll also talk about something I call the deficit report: our tendency to finish the day remembering everything we did wrong while barely acknowledging everything we actually handled, learned, or accomplished. And I’ll share a simple practice you can use to start changing that.
Plus, if nighttime is when your mind gets the loudest, I’ll share a few science-backed strategies that have made a real difference for me in turning down that mental noise before sleep.
This episode isn’t about becoming fearless, eliminating every anxious thought, or pretending that difficult things suddenly become easy.
It’s about understanding your brain differently.
It’s about learning that discomfort doesn’t always mean stop.
And it’s about discovering that confidence is often built after we take the step, not before.
Because every time you do something difficult while part of you wants to back away, you’re giving your brain another experience to learn from.
Another rep. Another piece of evidence. Another opportunity to change the old program.
Your brain isn’t broken, my friend.
It’s still learning. 💙💪
