This episode features Canadian hip hop pioneer Maestro Fresh Wes! It was recorded on June 3 of 2020 as episode 7 of the first season. Known as the Godfather of Canadian hip hop, Wes made history by having the first certified platinum album by a black Canadian artist. He’s also been a friend for many years and we even did a track together back in 2013, which we get in to in the chat. Enjoy!

This is my chat with Alan Doyle, which was recorded on August 19th of 2020 for episode 5 of season 2 of the Instagram series of the same name (link below). Alan is probably best known as the co-founder and front man of legendary Canadian band Great Big Sea but he is also an accomplished solo artist, actor and author. S.01 E.01 & S.02 E.07. This episode features Brett Emmons and Jay Emmons of the Glorious Sons. Brett was my very first ever guest on the podcast/livestream in May of 2020 and Jay came on during season 2 on September 2nd, 2020. As you'll hear in the interviews, I go way back with the Sons. I discovered them opening for my band in Barrie, ON back in 2012. I produced their debut EP "Shapeless Art" and their debut album "The Union". I always love catching up with them any chance I get! S.01 E.02 & S.03 E.11 This episode features interviews with Gord Sinclair and Paul Langlois of Canada's most iconic homegrown rock band, the Tragically Hip. It would be difficult to overstate the influence that the Hip has had on my band, the Trews. Beyond their incomparable ability as songwriters and performers, they were also a guiding north star for us on how to conduct a career in music with integrity and grace. I'm lucky to call them my friends and these chats we're a great chance to catch up with Gord and Paul. We touched on everything from how they spent their lock downs to their favorite Hip songs. S.02 E.03 This episode features Canadian west coast guitar slinger extraordinaire Shaun Verreault. Best known as the founding member, singer, songwriter and guitarist of Wide Mouth Mason, Shaun has also stretched his chops in to so many other musical fields and styles - most notably pioneering his "tri slide" style of playing lap steel guitar. We touch on all of this and more in this episode of the podcast.

Brent has had a long and successful career as one of the most in demand drummers that Canada has ever produced. Both in the studio and on stage, he has played and recorded with the likes of Alice Cooper, Gene Simmons, Vince Neil, Brad Whitford and Theory of a Deadman before landing his current gig as the drummer for one of the most iconic lead guitar players of all time, Slash.
