March is Nutrition Month, and this is the first of our 3-part deep dive into the new Canada Food Guide, featuring Grande Prairie PCN Registered Dietitians Sarah O’Brien, Michelle Heckbert, Taylor Hannah, and Robin Lange.
Part One
Sarah, Taylor, and Robyn discuss the fundamental changes to the guide, and answer questions like, “Where’s the beef?"
Part Two
Sarah, Taylor, and Robyn talk about how healthy eating is more than the foods you eat, and how mindful eating, cooking more often, eating with others, and enjoying your food is also important.
Part Three
Michelle and Taylor give suggestions on how to be aware of food marketing and the influence it can have on the food choices you make. They also discuss what it means to limit foods high in sodium, sugars, and saturated fats, and how reading your food labels is important.
