I am away from the studio this week on vacation but have pre-recorded an excerpt from July’s worship service for your reflection. Enjoy!

Special Guest, Minister Victoria Burns of Abundant Reign Ministries shares encouragement for serving others. She tells of the upcoming back to school drive to provide school supplies to children in the Atlanta Area. Her passions are feeding the homeless, assisting needy families, help with the holidays, food drive, health fairs  and giving back to the community,  and just being be there for others in their time of need. She believes that if you want to be a great leader you must first be a great servant!

Today and for the entire month of July, our prayer focus is Peace. We know from the Holy Word that GOD wants us to be at peace. The definition of peace is the absence of disturbance or agitation, quiet and tranquility:  It is the translation of the Hebrew word shalom, meaning 'to restore'. At its fullest, to say peace includes justice, good health, safety, well-being, prosperity, equity, security, good fortune. Isaiah 26:3 – 4,The Lord gives perfect peace to those whose faith is firm. So always trust the Lord because he is forever our mighty rock! CEV

As the nation celebrates Independence Day our strategy is to Hold Fast to our Liberty our Freedom which is in Christ Jesus! Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. When we go back to the story of David and Saul, we will see that even though they were related by marriage, they parted company. David left the relationship with Saul with his integrity intact. We can do the same!  We can remain victorious as we go about our lives in peace when we hold fast to our liberty and live free in Christ Jesus!

‘Prayer Changes Things’ is a cliché I’ve heard through the years and from various sources. That slogan has been stitched on pillows, sung in songs, and posted on banners. Yet, I wonder how many people truly believe that they can change things in their lives and for the world simply by praying.  Are there specific guidelines and conditions these change agents must meet? If so, who are the people that are meeting these conditions and guidelines and changing things with prayer? Doctors did a study about the efficacy of Christian prayer on healing. Patients from the San Francisco General Medical Center were randomly divided into placebo and test groups. Patients in the test group were prayed for by Christians; the placebo group received no prayer. The results demonstrated that patients who were prayed for suffered "less congestive heart failure, required less diuretic and antibiotic therapy, had fewer episodes of pneumonia, had fewer cardiac arrests, and were less frequently intubated and ventilated. “Also [Jesus] told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not to turn coward (faint, lose heart, and give up).” (Luke 18:1, AMPC)

Sharing Excerpts from my book Help To Get Over It, let’s take a survey to see if you are over it or if you are still stuck at your place of wounding, abuse, betrayal or grief. Of course when we are hurt we will say ouch, or cry. We will mourn when we are grief- stricken, but today our goal is to start the process of becoming unstuck. We want to stop dwelling on negative past experiences and to move forward to embrace a joyful and fulfilling future.

Special guest Evangelist Artherrine Grimes-Hoskins will share her expertise in meeting GOD in fervent, consistent, and passionate prayer. In troubling times and as founder of The Power of Agreement Global Prayer, Evangelist Artherrine has taught hundreds of people to go boldly and confidently to the Throne of Grace.  This broadcast will deal with the emotions of fear, anxiety, grief/sorrow, offense/hurt, anger/rage, hopelessness/despair, emptiness, discouragement, and disillusionment. As we continue to celebrate fathers this month, today’s prayer focus prepares each listener to come to GOD to be refreshed, renewed, and rejuvenated. We approach GOD boldly with our request.  We remember that we are approaching a throne of grace, a throne of unmerited favor towards us.  Not that we deserved it or are entitled, not because we are so good.  It’s because GOD loves us and GOD is good! It is this type of mind set that allows us to obtain mercy and find grace to help just precisely when we need it! “Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying.” Romans 12:12, NLT
