Our culture has been sending a heavy message: “Find a healthy work/life balance!” You could say there’s been an emphasis on every area of life that is not work.
Has the pendulum swung so far that we are devaluing the role of work in our lives? If so, how is that impacting our approach to work? What does the Bible have to say about work?
David L. Bahnsen, founder and chief investment officer of the Bahnsen Group and author of his new book, Full-Time: Work and the Meaning of Life says “It’s time to get back to the Garden of Eden and understand what God created us to do.”
Perry shares, “On a run in East Nashville last week and I heard a rooster crow. It made me think of Peter’s denials of Jesus and of my own.”
In Acts we see the early church was of one heart and mind and shared generously with one another. You might think the Church is failing in this today. Shawna reminds us that if the Church is failing, then we are failing, because we are the Church!
Last, Perry shares about his brother who’s been suffering for 40 years and isn’t getting better. It can be really discouraging but he shares how he’s able to remain hopeful even though things are not as they should be.
