CONTENT WARNING:
This episode contains topics surrounding sexual exploitation and abuse. It may cause discomfort so please listen with care.
On today's episode, we look into the systematic issues of shame culture within the Somali Community. We believe many cultures also relate to how women are mistreated with the lack of simple human rights, aid and needs. So we would like to bring a wider perspective, and bring awareness on the modern-day stigmas woman face on a day to day basis.
Please take note that these are OUR opinions and we want to use this space to enlight people on the current issues we and other women face. If you are not of the identity we are describing in this episode please refrain from bringing in any unsolicited negative comments, we won't allow anyone to be silenced when sharing issues that need to be solved and changed.

On this episode, we open up on our personal journey to self-acceptance, love and care from colourism, discrimination and damaged hair.
The topic is mainly to discuss issues upon colourism within the Somali community as black women of the diaspora. Breaking the tales of beautifying lighter skin complexions and perpetuating the deeply rooted dark hate for our melanin.
We also dive into our hair journey, that also works in hand with colourism, and accepting the natural textures of our hair.
