You're Wrong

This week's Battle Royale comes with two twists: one, the nerds invited their buddy Mike to participate; two, this one is not just a battle — it's a battle for the position of Santa Claus, fought by the contenders' agents! Thoby the H.R. Elf (as played by Chris) interviews 4 very strong candidates for the job of Father Christmas, and I'm sure I don't have to tell you that complete mayhem ensues.

Yes, they went there. Even though it's sacrilegious and very likely a heresy, Chris, Luciano, Matt and Spencer — joined by Spencer's significantly better half, Ashley — tried their hand at recasting Star Trek: The Next Generation. Tears were shed, blood was spilled and very dubious casting choices were made... In the end, one question remains: were they actually able to do it?

From Bobby Kotick's epic asshattery, to the possibility of seven entire seasons of Henry Cavill grunting "Hm" as Geralt of Rivia, to YouTube thinking that sweeping social media toxicity under the rug is a solution to anything, this is November 2021 (and not a drop of December) in pop culture news (poorly) commented on by 3 (😮) nerds : The Monthly Roundup!

And for this month's commentary, the nerds are joined by Matt's lovely wife, Laura!

With Chris from Whitby out for the count as he works towards becoming Chris not from Whitby, Luciano, Matt and Spencer are joined by their buddy Nick for a brand new Battle Royale! This time, they're duking it out to figure out who picked the coolest weapon around.

Once again, Matt runs everyone through situations he created via his Totally Original Hypothetical Scenario Generator™ and, uh... things take some weird turns. Which, now that I think about it, is sort of the norm around here.

Join us this week as the You're Wrong crew shares their thoughts and hot takes about Dune (the 2021 movie, not the 1984 David Lynch one... although listening to Chris talk about it, you'd be excused for thinking otherwise). And, as a bonus, they decided to record and release the entire conversation, rather than arbitrarily cut it in half. They're generous like that.

This week, Chris, Luciano, Matt and Spencer are joined by their buddy (and Extra Life Team Captain) Scott to discuss how this year's Extra Life event went... and to rant about some trailers!

The mix was more varied this time: they talked about 3 upcoming games, an upcoming movie and an upcoming season of an existing TV series. Their takes, however, were not any more varied than normal: it was their usual brand of crazy, spiced with an unexpected Battle of Scotts! ⚔

The trailers:
– Halo Infinite (E3 2018 Announcement Trailer) (yes, it's still "upcoming", lol)
– Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity - Expansion Pass Wave 2: Guardian of Remembrance DLC (I dunno what to tell you about this name... blame Chris)
– ConcernedApe's Haunted Chocolatier (a.k.a. ConcernedApe's Stardew Valley... But With Chocolate)
– The Batman (featuring Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne as a disgruntled Wayne Corp. employee)
– The Witcher Season 2 (featuring the worst soundtrack ever to taint a dark fantasy trailer)

From cheapskate parents putting their children inside Amazon delivery boxes, to flying cars being a phenomenal idea, to Capcom finally realising which gaming device is the One True Gaming Device, this is October (and a hint of November) 2021 in pop culture news (poorly) commented on by 4 nerds: The Monthly Roundup!

Join Chris, Luciano and Matt as they discuss their thoughts on Star Wars: Visions and their views on sequels, live-action adaptations, musicals (trust me, it's related... somehow), kyber crystals and anime physics.

Our favourite nerds sat down to discuss their opinions about Free Guy, using their now tried-and-true movie review format, and said opinions were... unexpected, let's say... coming from said nerds.

From Jeff Bezos' desire to be a bald asshole forever, to the BBC bringing back the Level 20 Cleric/Showrunner who cast Resurrection on Doctor Who back in 2005, to Netflix doing an uncannily amazing job on the opening credits of their Cowboy Bebop live-action adaption, this is September (and the tip of October) 2021 in pop culture news (poorly) commented on by 4 nerds: The Monthly Roundup!
