The Nigeria Super Falcons would not be defending their crown in Morocco and will certainly not be at the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup in Brazil in 2027. This has been a disastrous WAFCON for Nigeria. 

Immediately after the defeat to South Africa, Amara Obah had guests in the pod to share their views on what has actually gone wrong with the team.

2022 Champions South Africa and current holders, the Super Falcons of Nigeria kept their WAFCON 2026 hopes alive with a point and a victory in their second matches at the tournament following defeats in their first matches. 

Joy Ojeabulu, Ikenna Okeke and Abdoulie Jatta Bamba joined Amara Obah in the pod to review the latest round of matches at the tournament in Morocco. It is boiling nicely for a lot of the teams while Morocco have secured a place in the last eight following their late flurry against Algeria. 

In one of the most blatant exhibitions of hubris, FIFA President Gianni Infantino dropped a proposal proposing more money. A huge backlash led by UEFA leads him to fold (as the kids would say) and withdraw it. In the pod are men with international finance backgrounds, an international brand manager based in Nairobi and a lawyer based in Houston who gave their views on this FIFA farce. 

We found time to pay tributes to the dear departed legends in Kevin Keegan and Franco Baresi. 

WAFCON 2022 Champions, Banyana Banyana of South Africa lost to Tanzania. Holders and ten-time winners, Nigeria followed up by being humbled by debutants Malawi to crown a quite interesting first round of matches at the 2026 WAFCON.
