Sam Martin (14) and Javier Shoosmith (15) are two of the lead actors in Kinross College's 'Addams Family' production. The pair talked about their acting careers to date, preparing for the show and some of the personal obstacles they had to leap over.

Superintendent Dominic Wood from WA Police called into Weekend Brunch to speak with Kate & Isaac about this year's Leavers events down south. Dominic said how all school leavers should download the Leavers app and sync their vaccination status to make sure they have free reign of this year's events.

PLUS he spoke about the safety measures being put in place to keep leavers safe in the zone and whilst on roadtrips.

There is a new Australian Parliamentary Petition open for public consultation now. The petition is advocating for gender-affirming surgery to be covered by Medicare. With surgeries currently costing up to $30,000, Chairperson of Transfolk of WA Hunter Gurevich believes its time to get more subsidies for surgeries.

He called into Weekend Brunch to speak with Kate & Isaac about the petition.

Over the weekend, Professor Paula Gerber from Monash University called into the station to chat to Kate & Isaac about the issues being faced by those in the LGBTQ+ community.

David Keronhan is from Youth Legal Service and called into Weekend Brunch to talk about the laws around stealthing and 'fraudulent consent'. Current laws protect the 1 in 3 women who fall victim to stealthing but David believes there is not enough education around legal consequences and laws in regards to consent and when it is removed. Youth Jam are currently calling on the State Government to make laws tighter around stealthing and creative programs to educate people around the act and consequences.
