Before becoming executive director of the Pennsylvania Commission for Women, Moriah served as the special assistant to the Governor’s Office of Intergovernmental Affairs. She grew up in southwestern Pennsylvania and worked on several campaigns in the area. She is also a member of the Shippensburg University Alumni Association Board of Directors.
Aarna is a writer, poet and activist from Mumbai, India. Her main passion is sexual violence and mental health advocacy, and has spoken at events and on panels surrounding these topics. She hopes to run for office one day. In her free time, Aarna loves to read, write and reflect on why things are the way they are.

Jacob, 33, was raised in West Kittanning, about an hour’s drive north of the city. In 2010 he graduated from Gannon University and went on to earn his master’s degree in theology from the Augustine Institute in Denver, Colorado. You can probably catch Jacob walking Theo, his eighty-pound labradoodle, in Crafton Heights or often down at the Point.

India is a student at the University of Pittsburgh, political advocate, and social justice activist. She talked with us about her political journey and her recent opinion piece in the Pitt News!
Shayna Rutman is an 18 year old activist who uprooted her charity project Purses For A Purpose- San Diego last May with the help of her dad. She has collected purses and bags and filled them with travel sized toiletries and delivers them to homeless women in her city. This organization centralizes itself with the purpose of reminding each homeless woman that receives a purse that they are valued and loved in society.

Sarah McBride is an American activist and politician who is a Democratic member of the Delaware Senate since January 2021. We talked about her historic campaign and what she hopes to achieve in office.
Rachel is a Program Associate with the Outreach team. In this position, she coordinates outreach to AFJ’s networks of member organizations, law schools, legal communities and various coalitions across the United States to educate and advocate about the importance of the federal judiciary in protecting constitutional rights and freedoms. She previously worked as the Investigative Mitigation Intern with Capital Defender Office of Northern Virginia where she collected character witness testimony. Earlier in 2018 she worked with Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan Washington as an Advocacy Intern. Rachel also worked on the 2017 Democratic Coordinated Campaign, increasing voter turnout in Petersburg, VA by 48%.
Originally from Richmond, VA, Rachel has been living in the district for 4 years and recently graduated cum laude from American University with a degree in Justice and Law, concentrating in Criminal Justice. She also studied abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark focusing on the various legal approaches to sex work and how they intersected with women’s agency. In her free time Rachel loves playing Mario Kart and raising service dogs with her family.
