Life changes fast through Grades 7-9. In these years, many young Christians let go of Jesus. Join AJ in this session to learn how you can hang onto Jesus not only through grade 7-9, but also through high school.

Key Passage: John 15:1-8

We participate in disciplines to train our bodies and minds for sporting events, so why do we not spiritual train? Doug Barr will talk about the importance of spiritual disciplines and ways to make them a part of your daily rhythm. This session will also help you build a devotional rhythm that includes scripture, prayer practices & other helpful tools. 

Over the last few years, we have seen a dramatic increase in the area of depression. Among adolescents alone there is a 60% increase. This session will provide you with an understanding of depression and how to engage this subject in a healthy manner where you will have practical tools to walk alongside others.

How do we navigate effective spiritual conversations and be able to defend our faith without sounding defensive? In a world so easily offended, how do we tell others about the gospel while staying in the driver’s seat and out of the hot seat?

Whether you identify as same-sex attracted, gay, bi, straight or whatever your experience is, as Christians we need to face the reality of our sexuality in light of Jesus. I will share my own story with same-sex attraction and what it looks like to follow Jesus and build my life upon Him. Our stories shape us, define us and give us a sense of where we belong. The story of Jesus presents something radically different than what culture tells us.

In a world where there is so many different values, beliefs, and religions, what do we make of it? Maybe the question we ask when faced with this reality is: “Do all religions lead to God?” This is a question we either all have asked or will ask because it wrestles with what happens to people after this life ends on earth. So join in with me as we explore different world religions and grapple with this question with a fresh perspective.

Only 33% of Christian teenagers hang onto their faith into adulthood. But there is hope: a recent study gives us 5 key ways to hold on and build our lives around Jesus after high school. Whether you’re planning on working, going to university, or joining us at Briercrest, these tips will help you navigate your faith in the next few years. While this seminar is designed for grade 12s, anyone is welcome to join.
