Tonight on Youth Theatre Podcast Interview, Roni Gal Oz meets music director Ande Jacobson. Ande is an engineer, freelance writer and musician, and the founder of A Good Reed Review. Having spent many years as both a reed player and music director for community theater, Ande has had the opportunity to become involved in productions on many levels. That involvement includes much of the behind the scenes stage and prep work in addition to the musical aspects. As a musician, Ande freelances as a player, an arranger, and a music director. Ande’s playing focuses on A/Bb/Eb clarinet, soprano/alto/tenor saxophone, and flute/piccolo/alto flute.

As an actor, Khalia has performed with companies including Bay Area Children’s Theatre, TheatreWorks Silicon Valley, Berkeley Playhouse and California Shakespeare Theatre. Now based in New York, she is also a teaching artist for Atlantic Theater Company, Disney Theatrical Group, and New York City Children’s Theater. She also taught for PYT!  Khalia recently adapted and directed the online production of “A Kid’s Play About Racism,” A groundbreaking online performance for families that explains what racism is, how to know it when you see and experience it, and ideas for what you can do about it, which performs August 1 & 2, and can be streamed for free on Broadway on Demand..

Join orphaned twins Daleea and Ernst as they flee their drab and depressing prospects on the planet Mundanea, with the help of a rogues gallery of space misfits. Will they find the planet Frostopia? If they do, will they find their long lost father? Sailing Into Icy Stars was written by students in PYT's Play writing Master Class, and features the vocal talents of many of our illustrious alumni!

Tonight on Youth Theatre Interview, Elowyn Ingler interviews lighting designer Travis McHale. Travis is a professional lighting and set designer. His designs have been seen on the stages of major regional theatres, Off-Broadway, on tour internationally, at Carnegie Hall,  television nationwide, and around the world for Splendor Seven Seas Cruise Lines.  He has been an associate designer on a wide range of projects including Broadway shows and national tours.  Travis also designs for IMCD Lighting which creates the lighting for over 120 fashion shows annually during New York Fashion Week.
