Tim, Jim, and Greg welcome you to a season we’re calling “The Summer of George!” where we dive into all of the media that inspired George Lucas to create the Star Wars franchise as well as the media that he made leading up to the 1977 release of the original film. And we’re joined by Tiny Dinos hosts James III (Astronomy Club, Adam Ruins Everything) and Connor Ratliff (The George Lucas Talk Show) to discuss what George Lucas means to us and the ups and downs of his career.
But BEFORE that we talk about a Lenny Kravitz song that leans heavy on a bizarre Star Wars reference, play a clip from long-time listener Mike Lord, and give you the inside scoop on how we’ve navigated the entertainment industry.

Starting May 31, you can look forward to a season of episodes about the media that influenced George Lucas in the creation of ‘Star Wars’ as well as the media George Lucas made leading up to the 1977 release of the original film.

Tim and Jim strap on their revealing short shorts for a timely review of the original 1936 Flash Gordon Serial, "Planet in Peril!" We unpack all things parallel to Star Wars, knife fights with shark men, culturally inappropriate emperors, and planets in peril!
Speaking of Planets in Peril, there's also an Earthquake in NY that happens mid-pod. Talk about production value!
And Dune's deleted scenes, Cerveza Crystal, and more!
Plus, we announce that we'll be participating in May the 4th's Pod-A-Thon to benefit the Make-A-Wish foundation!

Tim reads a fan email and introduces his interview with Greg Iwinski from his You Are The Genre podcast!
Despite speaking to each other for hundreds of hours as co-hosts of Yub Nub (a Star Wars podcast), Tim chats with late night writer Greg Iwinski about his childhood love of sports radio and finding balance in an ever changing media landscape (a.k.a. The Force).
Greg Iwinski is a comedy writer and performer living in New York City. A two-time Emmy winner, he's worked at The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Last Week Tonight, Game Theory with Bomani Jones, and Young Jedi Adventures. Tim and Jim break down the Acolyte trailer and Jim breaks down mentally. Plus Tim explores the volume-verse, Jim does preliminary research on the air into showrunner Leslye Headland, and we uncover every species from the Acolyte trailer, including some we've never seen before!
Tim connects Mr. And Mrs. Smith and Shōgun to the new Lando show and his hopes for the future of Star Wars (How did nobody make a Mr. and Mrs. Sith joke?) while Jim relives a 30-minute documentary featurette "Anatomy of a Dewback" beat-by-beat.
PLUS the boozy tale that led to an iconic Star Wars character's name, a big movie BACK in development, and a heartfelt moment of support for Jake Lloyd.
