Lead Pastor Josh Kouri continues with part 9 of the series Rebuild. Renew. Restore. In Nehemiah chapter 6, the enemies of Nehemiah are planning to kill him. At the very least they hope to stop the progress of rebuilding by making Nehemiah fearful. When we are tempted to fear in our lives, as Nehemiah was, we must remember, as Nehemiah did, that the perfect love of God makes fear afraid.

Teaching Pastor Andrew Burkhart leads us through Rebuild. Renew. Restore. part 8. In Nehemiah 5 people were suffering because of the greed of the wealthy Jewish nobles. Nehemiah steps in and lovingly confronts the sin being committed, as well as the sin in his own life. We also are called to confront sin as we step into community. Jesus, being the greater Nehemiah, demonstrated this for us; He lovingly confronted us in our sin and ultimately gave His life for us so we can be forgiven.

In part 7 of 'Rebuild. Renew. Restore.' Josh Kouri preaches from Nehemiah 4, which is a practical handbook for the work of revival and reformation. Nehemiah sees the sobering reality of Jerusalem's rubble, but does not allow the Enemy's seeds of insecurity and insignificance to take root. He looks to the ultimate reality of God and fights for the work he was called to. We also are to recognize the sobering reality of our broken lives and look to the ultimate reality of Jesus and our dependance on Him.

In Rebuild. Renew. Restore part 6, Andrew Burkhart takes us through Nehemiah chapter 3. On the surface it is a long list of names of the people who did the work to rebuild the wall of Jerusalem. Looking deeper, we see that revival and reformation takes teamwork. In order to bring the reviving and renewing work of Jesus to our city it is up to us to work together as a team.

Because we are followers of Jesus on mission, we should expect the same thing, and we must rely on the power of Jesus to overcome it.

In part 4 of our Rebuild. Renew. Restore. series, Josh Kouri preaches from Neh. 2:1-8. Nehemiah is living within the tension of his calling and his confirmation as he waits on the Lord and tests his calling. For all of us, there is a collision of the spiritual and the natural in the process of answering our callings. And in truth, the whole gospel is a collision as Jesus became flesh.

In this second week of our new series, Rebuild. Renew. Restore., Josh Kouri demonstrates how the story of Nehemiah is a testimony to the fact God uses "normal" people to do great things, and that there should be no divide for us between the sacred and the secular. In response to prayer, God gifted Nehemiah with an ability to see the true reality of the state of His people. It should be our prayer to see the reality of our lives and invite Jesus in.
