Z and Keith Watched A Movie episodes

  • Ep 1.14 — Stop or My Mom Will Shoot!
Part 2 of our Mother's Day 2021 double feature!
Both the leads participated in this film due to some kind of deception!
Everyone else was just tryna get a paycheck. Who can blame'm. The Economy, y'know?

  • Ep 1.12 — Near Dark Thirty (or These Vampires Are Bad at Telling Time and Washing)

In this episode we go on longer than the movie we're talking about. It's Near Dark! Kathryn Bigelow directs the supporting cast of Aliens in this tonally confusing vampire western. Z talks about almost dying as a young person (again) and Keith gives more trivia about the making of the film than anyone has a stomach for (again). • Ep 1.11 — Twinsane in the Membrain

This piece of speculative fiction poses the question: "What if former Nazi scientists working in the US attempted to create the perfect Aryan and the results were let loose upon the world?" You guessed it--we're talking 1988's Twins! Directed by Ivan Reitman and starring Danny "The Lion" DeVito and former Governor Schwarzenegger as the titular sibs, this classic comedy about eugenics has lots of wacky, unexpected turns!

  • Ep 1.10 — T.Hanks vs The Megcano
This week we are talking 1990's Joe Versus the Volcano!
Featuring a Peter Sellars level triple role for Meg Ryan, a corporatist settler-colonial fairy tale  (aka "racist") premise, lovely cinematography and hyperstylized sets.
Is this this an underrated gem? We can't tell.

  • Ep 1.09 — Kindergarten. F Cop/s.

In a series of unfortunate diarrheal events, Arnold has to pretend he doesn't want to murder a room full of 5 year olds. Along the way we discuss our disordered seasonal affections, our Michigan vacation and times we unintentional stole as kids.
