Mr James Daka is the president of the Fire Services Union of Zambia which regulates wages and conditions of service for its members, it also fosters sound relations and settle disputes between members and other workers or employers. The union also provides legal advice, relief in sickness, accidents, disablement and render funeral assistance, Monitoring and implementing collective agreements.
Mr Daka joins to discuss the recruitment/training processes, adequacy of training requirements, infrastructure, equipment, materials etc. In recent months the nation has experienced severe fire damage to key infrastructure, which revealed how ill equipped the fire service is in the nation. We’ll also discuss the number of fire stations & state of work environments nationwide, availability/adequacy/state of fire engineering equipment and effectiveness of emergency (fire) system in the nation to the citizens.
