Installing OTA digital antennas should not be difficult.  When the cable company used coaxial cable, I ran coaxial cable throughout the house.  I had wires running through cold-air vents to the bedrooms upstairs for cable, telephone and Internet.  After we purchased laptops and cell phones, and the cable company switched to wireless receivers these wires were not needed.  I still have some of these wires, but they have been disconnected.  So, I knew I had extra coaxial cables in the basement, that I cut and removed.  I still had some connectors and the tool to install the connectors.

I wanted to let you know that I am rearranging the DIY episodes on the podcast.  I will post more current episodes and leave the older ones for later.  Why, may you ask?  Well, the current ones are just better.  As my writing has improved, these episodes are more interesting, I believe.  Don’t get me wrong, the other episodes are okay, but as I read them out loud, they are clunky and need revisions.  I will modify them as I go so, they sound better to the ears than they are read.  Again, I never considered myself a good blogger, nor a good podcaster, even a good DIYer.  Thanks for listening!

Efiwym, my wife and I have had conversations about getting rid of cable TV.  As Efiwym sees the bills monthly, the idea of “cutting the cable” will be brought up.  I will agree with her concerns about the constant increases in a product we truly do not take advantage of.  There are hundreds of channels, and we probably watch 10.  We most likely have kept it because of the local channels and the DVR.  We do record plenty of shows and watch them when it is convenient.  When we do watch something live, it is usually background noise, as we both are occupied on our iPad or phone.  

 To cut the cable, there are three main issues to consider: getting over-the-air local channels, recording shows, and streaming shows we do watch on cable.

Time to pick out the hardware for the cabinet doors.   We were going to look specifically at hardware with a satin nickel finish.  We had switched over to that finish on projects throughout the last couple of years: faucets, light fixtures, and the shower door.  I wanted a little bling; Efiwym, my wife, was cool to the idea.  I was not thinking 12” handles, but I wanted something that was stylish and modern.    

Finally, the sight of an unfinished project would be gone.  With the cabinet doors completely assembled, I was ready to install them in the master bathroom.

Time to finish the cabinet doors in the master bathroom.  First, I needed the screen molding.  Is the stain Golden Oak? Or Provincial Oak?

It is time to assemble the cabinet doors for the master bathroom. 

Before I could assemble, I needed to buy a pin nailer.  Like all DIYers, I like buying new tools.

This phase of the project created the urgency to complete the project ASAP.  I am not a big fan of unfinished projects on display in our house.  I want projects done NOW.  That is why I get a little sloppy at the end of a project, I just want to finish it.

Time to make the panels for the new cabinet doors in the master bathroom using the backside of the existing cabinet doors.

Taking off the doors now exposes, not only all our stuff in the cabinet, but also that there is a project in our house.  Now I understand it is in our master bathroom.  Nevertheless, I see this unfinished project every day.

Using my 30-year-old Sears-Craftsman router, I started routing the door frames for the panel.
