  • Try This Meditation at Home and See How Easy Meditation Can Be (ZC 569)

This entire week I have been extolling the benefits of meditation.  I have been trying to let you guys know that the best way to live a calmer, healthier life is through meditation.  There is absolutely no downfall to mindfulness.  When practiced it enhances your life. Period.

Today I want to demonstrate how easy it is.  I am going to lead you through a basic meditation that you can use as often as you like.  It is important to let you know that the reason I hae attached the MP3 to this blog post as opposed to having it play through iTunes or Stitcher, is for your safety.  I don't want anyone to attempt this while driving.  It produces a very relaxed state of mind that is too relaxed for driving or operating heavy machinery.

With that caveat out of the way, come listen to how to prepare to meditate.

In this Episode, You Will Learn:
    • How to prepare for meditation
    • A basic meditation

  • Discovering the Right Type of Meditation for You; Discussing the Different types (ZC 568)

This week I have been trying to take the scariness out of meditation.  Those two words, scary and meditation, seem so opposed. Meditation is a practice that provides a multitude of health benefits along with peace of mind.

Yet I also know that many people find it scary because it is something that seems to mystical and overwhelming.  Many people feel that those who have developed the ability to meditate are part of some elite group.  They possess some innate ability to rid their minds of all thoughts.

The truth is absolutely everyone has the ability to meditate.  Today I talk about the most common forms of meditation.  In doing so I hope to help you find the one that is right for you.

  • This One Exercise Will Bring You instant Calm (ZC 562)

Today I am going off script to return to the very premise of ZEN commuter, calm.  I am leaving out sponsorship and missions and focusing on one thing, Focus.  Several times a month, maybe even less frequently I like to share experiences that I have encountered that lead me to a calmer way of being.  Many times they are conversations that I have with my spirit guide Bart, or any of the energies that impart wisdom to me.

I am not even sure they aren't higher versions of myself.  Regardless, they always serve me and guide me to experiencing life more fully.  Come listen to my latest adventure.

  • Why You Stay Awake When You Are Exhausted and How to Stop It (ZC 560)

We have all done it, myself included.  Yet there are some who do it habitually night after night.  I am not talking about anything juicy.  I'm talking about forcing yourself to stay up late at night even when you are exhausted.

When I worked at Fidelity Investments I had long hours.  When I eventually got home I was beat.  Yet even though I was tired and even though I knew staying up would leave me more tired the next day, I forced myself to stay up.  It wasn't anything productive, usually video games and stupid TV.

Today I talk about how to figure out why you are doing the same thing and how to put an end to it once and for all.
