Anyone aware of the nature of the times will want the current wicked eon to end as soon as possible. 

 There is a theory which says that the apostle Paul did not begin teaching his gospel to the nations until he was imprisoned in Rome at the end of his life. This theory is called the "Acts 28" theory. It can be disproven, oddly enough, using the same verse that is used to "prove" it: Acts 28:28. The advocates of this theory insist that there are two bodies of Christ: one before Acts 28:28, and one after. The problem with this insistence is that there is but one body of Christ (Ephesians 4:4). This is only the first of many problems. 

 According to Paul, we are supposed to love Christ's advent, not hope for it to be delayed. This seems like common spiritual sense, but there is a teaching going around that insists that we ought to be bubbly about the possibility of another 500 years of this wicked eon. Huh? 

 Some claim that less than half of Paul's letters are actually for us, the nations. This theory causes its adherents to render Paul's first letter to the Corinthians obsolete. Thus, Paul's statement in 1 Corinthians 7:29 that "the era is limited," does not apply to the era we are now living in, but a bygone era that existed before Paul's "perfection epistles." Sound crazy? It is. The result is that we are supposedly now living in an era that is limitless (the opposite of limited) and that the return of Christ is nowhere in sight. 

 What if we were to learn that Jesus Christ was returning for us today? Would we be thrilled or panicked? The answer to that question is an indicator of how much we either love or hate the current eon. 

 Just when you think that speculation about prophecy couldn't get any wackier, there comes THIS. 

 These are the times that try men's souls. Women aren't doing so hot either. Stand steady and firm; don't waver. The spirit of God inside of you will cause you to hold fast as we await our Savior out of heaven. 

 Short answer to the question, "Can Faith Be Faked?" Yes. But most people don't do it consciously. 

 John 3:16 has nothing to do with the fate of all humanity. It addresses a relatively short period of time rather than eternity. And neither has it anything to do with heaven, but rather focuses entirely upon the earth. Other than that, Christians have it right.
