She was an army soldier who lost her life at the age of 20. She was brutally murdered on Fort Hood, an army base with a long standing history of violence and horrific crimes. We expect our enlisted and our officer to die abroad in combat. What we don't expect is for them to die violent deaths while stationed right here on American soil without seeing one day of combat.
