  • Fighting, Finishing, “Faithing,” Part 1 (2 Tim. 4:6-7)

by Elder Chris McCool, Pastor (preached on May 19, 2024)

In Paul’s final letter to the young preacher Timothy, he tells him, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” In today’s message, we look at the idea of fighting, finishing, and “faithing”. (Note: “farthing” is simply a word that I made up to refer to living by faith as we fight the good fight and finish our course)! Join us as we see the last admonition of Paul to the young preacher, encouraging him to follow his own example of fighting the good fight in a faithful way.

  • Who Shall Deliver Me? Part 2 (Rom. 7:24)

by Elder Chris McCool, Pastor (preached on April 21, 2024)

As we began to see yesterday, Paul saw himself as a broken, undone sinner who daily struggled to do right. Paul seems to be saying that, no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t quite make it to the level of godly living that he so desired. Isn’t that the struggle that we have? Don’t we cry out, like Paul, “O wretched man that I am? Who shall deliver me from the body of this death?” Our answer must be the same as Paul’s answer: “I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

  • Who Shall Deliver Me? Part 1 (Rom. 7:24)

by Elder Chris McCool, Pastor (preached on April 21, 2024)

In the 7th Chapter of Romans, Paul laments the curse of sin that he sees within himself as his flesh struggles against his spirit. In verse 24, he cries out, “O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from the body of this death?” Join us today as we consider the struggles of Paul in light of the struggle that we see within ourselves. Our cry, like Paul’s, is a cry that can only be answered in one way: “I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

  • Numbered With the Transgressors, Part 2 (Mark 15:27-28)

by Elder Chris McCool, Pastor (preached on March 31, 2024)

Yesterday, we began to see that the perfect Lamb of God was numbered with the transgressors. That is, He was counted to be a transgressor of the Law, even though He NEVER transgressed the Law! We continue today seeing that His death indeed was a substitutionary death on the behalf of every single one of His chosen people.

by Elder Chris McCool, Pastor (preached on March 31, 2024)

In Mark 15:28, we read that Jesus was “numbered with the transgressors.” How could the holy, harmless, undefiled Son of God be counted with such sinners? Join us today as we begin to understand the substitutionary sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ, who became sin for us so that we would be eternally redeemed from sin.
