Wives, your husband needs your unconditional respect, support, companionship and physical responsiveness. (1 Peter 2:18-19; Ephesians 5:33; Proverbs 31:10-12; Genesis 2:15; Proverbs 12:4; Ecclesiastes 4:9-12; Genesis 2:24-25; 1 Corinthians 7:2-5)

Although God calls wives to submit to their husbands, submission is not a wife's role. It is her response to her her husband's role. Her role is that of helper to her husband, providing balance and encouragement. (Genesis 2:18; Deuteronomy 33:7; Psalm 70:1; Psalm 115:8-9; Psalm 89:20-21; Psalm 121:1-2)

In marriage, the role of the man is HEAD. This means he nourishes and cherishes his wife even at his own expense. (1 Corinthians 11:1)

For a healthy and prosperous marriage, husbands and wives need to learn that God has created roles for each of them. God views men and women equal in personhood with distict roles. (Genesis 1:27; Galatians 3:28)
