These rotary encoder user-interface elements remind us a lot of very old iPods (before it was all touch wheel interface). The middle wheel is a rotary encoder, and there's 5 buttons in addition (up down left right and center). We made a breakout to test the footprint and whipped up a little demo - the Feather reads the buttons and encoder and light up the attached NeoPixel ring to match. So far so good!
