A strong man's gospel!

Today I am going to begin a series of readings of the sermons of Dr. John G. Lake.  This first one:  "Triune Salvation" is taken from 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24:  I pray God your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless (without defilement, corruption) unto the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Faithful is he who calls you who also will do it.

God's original intention for man is stated in this verse.  Due to the fall, defilement and corruption attacked mankind.  Jesus Christ was sent into the world to deal with the reasons and affects of the fall in order to restore mankind to God's original intent.

This sermon is packed with divine insight into the nature of sin, the nature of God and the nature of Salvation.

I would encourage you to take notes of the 'pregnant phrases'  for further meditation.

After years in the healing ministry and seeing hundreds healed, John G. Lake developed what he called, "Divine Healing Technicians".  For several weeks he would teach from the Word of God on the subject of healing and share his own revelations and insights gained during his years of ministering to the sick, and also from his experiences seeing his own family healed.  For several years he lived in Zion, Illinois and learned from the man who has been called the 'father of the divine healing movement', John Alexander Dowie.  It was under Dowie's ministry that Lake's dying brother, two sisters, and his wife were all raised up.  God had well prepared him to train others. 

Jesus did tell us, 'go and make disciples of all nations'......Lake discipled people in the ministry of healing.

In the Healing Rooms Lake opened people came for teaching and laying on of hands.  When he sent his technicians out, what the students learned was to spend time with the sick, teach them the Word and become sensitive to each one's specific needs.  They were to come back to the Institute when the person was healed.

Let's discuss the healing technician a little more today.

The Answer lies in the Anointing.

Acts 10:38:  "For God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power and He went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil."

"If I can but touch the hemd of his garment I shall be made whole."

"Who has touched Me for I perceive that virtue has gone out of me....."

"And when the Day of Pentecost had fully come, there came a sound from heaven as a rushing, mighty wind.....".

"This is that which was spoken by the Prophet Joel, Peter said, In the last days I will pour out of My Spirit upon all flesh...."

It's the Anointing.....it flows like a river, it falls like rain, it runs like waters in the desert, it fills valleys, levels mountains, smooths rough places and straightens crooked places.

"It's not by might, nor by power but by My Spirit, saith the Lord of Heavens Armies."

It's the Anointing.

Dr. John G. Lake preached a sermon entitled, "The Calling of the Soul".  In it he states, "God has a call in His own Spirit.  The call of the Spirit of God is the call of righteousness, the call of truth, the call of love, the call of power, the call of faith.  God Almighty is trying to obtain some decent association for Himself.  By His grace He is endeavoring to have us grow up in His knowledge and likeness to that stature where as sons of God we will comprehend something of His love, of His nature, of His power, of His purpose and be big enough to give back to God what a son should give to a great Father."

7 times in Revelation 2 & 3 we are told by the Head of the Church which is His Body:  "he who has an ear to hear, LET HIM HEAR what the Spirit is saying to the Church."

It is with the ears of the heart that we hear that rallying cry from the portals of Heaven through the Spirit within us.

Calling all the clans together.......

Being located next to the Tribe of Judah (Yah be praised) caused the spirit of praise and worship to permeate this tribe.  They were also located right in front of the Tabernacle entrance.  All day they observed the Israelites coming with their sacrifices for the "God Who Dwelled Among Them".

Issachar is listed in Numbers 7, right after Judah, in the roll of tribes who brought offerings the day that Moses erected the Tabernacle in the wilderness.  They are listed as being in attendance at David's coronation.  When Hezekiah reinstituted the Passover, they were in attendance.

The characteristic that strikes me today is their FAITHFULNESS.  Whatever God was doing, they were in on it.

A good quality to cultivate in our times.

For now, this is the concluding broadcast on the "Issachar Anointing".

In the Book of Deuteronomy, we find that when the children of Israel were ready to pass over the Jordan into the Promised Land, that Moses instructed two groups to stand on the two mountains located on either side of the valley they were to pass through.

One was Mt. Gerazim from which the blessings for obedience were to be pronounced.

One was Mt. Ebal from which the cursings for disobedience were to be pronounced.

The men of Issachar were located on Mt. Gerazim, pronouncers of the blessing.

Jesus came into the world not to condemn the world, but to save it.  To announce the 'acceptable year of the Lord'.

The men of Issachar were anointed to bless, as well as to give wise counsel.

Thought provoking, isn't it?

Every word of God has significance. Every name. Every number.

When the children of Israel left Egypt and camped in the wilderness, God said to Moses:  "Tell the children of Israel to build me a tabernacle that I might dwell among them."

God also gave instructions about how the 12 tribes were to encamp around this Tabernacle.  I find it significant that those with the "Issachar Anointing" camped next to Judah on the East side - where the entrance door was. 

The tribe of Issachar was considered numbered with the 'Camp of Judah', Numbers 2:9.

They followed Judah when the camp went on the march.

Jesus is from the Tribe of Judah.

Sons of Issachar stay close to the Son of Judah, for He is their Wisdom.

Can't you sense the honey flowing from this wonderful rock of truth?

A verse that has always made me hungry for the supernatural life is 1 Chronicles 12:32:

"And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do, the heads of them were two hundred:  and all their brethren were at their commandment."

Here it is from the Living version:

"From the tribe of Issachar, there were 200 leaders of the tribe with their relatives. All these men understood the signs of the times and knew the best course for Israel to take."

Jesus spoke of discerning the signs of the times in Matthew 16:1-4 and Paul also spoke of this issue in Romans 13:11-12.

"Perilous times" will be characteristic of world conditions prior to the coming of Christ to Judge the world.  As believers we must 'navigate wisely'.  Ask God for the 'Issachar Anointing'......
