Zone-casts: Heel Turn

With a big weekend in wrestling coming up, Owen and John have plenty to talk about! They discuss how the G1 Climax is going so far in New Japan, preview AEW Fight for the Fallen, and look ahead to attending Evolve’s 10th Anniversary Show. Oh, and I guess Owen will be at WWE Extreme Rules.

Having sacrificed himself to save wrestling, John finds himself in a strange new place with a familiar foe. Now John and “Scott Steiner” must face off one last time for the ultimate prize – John’s sense of self-worth – in the thrilling conclusion to Heel Turn’s most baffling and personal story arc. Time to pay homage to the Big Bad Podcast Daddy!

Owen and John recap the Twitter drama going on in the world of wrestling this week before diving into a strange Stomping Grounds show and running down the card of this weekend’s AEW Fyter Fest! Oh, and John vanishes before getting to discuss NXT.

Somehow the WWE is putting on a pay-per-view this weekend, but it’s hard to care about it when the writing doesn’t seem to care either. At least the G1 blocks have been announced, NXT is still good, and John gives his thoughts on Viceland’s Dark Side of the Ring.

With Owen heading out to Chicago on Wednesday, he and John get together a day early to discuss E3 2019’s most exciting announcements, what’s going on with MLW, and how Kota Ibushi almost died at NJPW Dominion over the weekend.

This week nothing important is happening in the WWE, so Owen and John instead discuss this past weekend’s incredible NXT TakeOver and Wednesday morning’s New Japan Best of the Super Juniors Finals, which featured two fantastic matches including the first non-WWE match for Jon Moxley.

Owen and John run down an excellent debut for AEW at Double or Nothing and how Jon Moxley is pretty much doing all the thing now, including Talk is Jericho. Plus I guess there’s some WWE discussion from the past week and predictions for NXT TakeOver XXV!

John returns, but is a bit sick. Unfortunately for him, there’s a lot to talk about this week with Money in the Bank just happening, a new championship debuting on Raw, NXT building quickly to a TakeOver, and AEW’s Double or Nothing coming up this weekend. Plus a closer look into the latest details on the Ashley Massaro tragedy.

John is out watching sportsball, so Owen goes it alone to quickly discuss the big news this week with AEW getting their TV deal and WWE wrestlers’ bad internet pasts getting dug up. Plus the usual weekly TV recaps and both Owen and John’s predictions for Sunday’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view!

WWE began their “Wild Card Rule” and the slow death of the brand split. SmackDown main evented Raw and Raw superstars challenged for SmackDown’s championships. 205 Live seems to be running in circles, but at least NXT is still consistently good. Also you can blame John for this episode’s title.
