"I really thought somebody else would get to this topic.  Seriously, everyone was talking about gun control about a month ago and both sides, pro-gun and anti-gun, were heated.  I thought for sure that one side would keep pressing and win the argument.  I was positive there was some momentum to break the stalemate.  I figured the anti-gun folks would keep pushing the issue and that maybe, just maybe, the pro-gun folks might listen long enough at least to make the other side think that they cared.  After two mass shootings, I was pretty sure the public conversation might go on for at least twice as long as it usually does when one of these things happens.
