Poem one: Louis Stenmark
Title: When the rain sounds aren’t on my phone
The best is here.
When the rain sounds arent from my phone
When the doorbell rings and you’re home
When the coffee never gets cold
When the water is reflecting gold
When the sun warms the skin
When the hours feel almost thin
When our eyes meet across the street
When Under the table we touch feet
When?
Now and then.
Today, yesterday tomorrow
It’s your choice, to avoid sorrow.
The best is here.
Poem Two: Josh Lynott
I stood in the middle of the world,
wrapped the planets around my finger,
And asked them questions I was sure
They didn’t know the answers to.
I asked them why the stars who were best of friends lived galaxies apart from each other.
I asked them why the ocean who loved the moon so dearly, never moved in.
I asked them why the most beautiful sunsets, were never framed and put above saturns dinner table.
I asked them why the sun chose to give its warmth to us, a little blue planet.
They replied to me.
The stars know better than any that comparison destroys their personality.
The ocean knew if it moved to the moon, it would lose it’s purpose.
Saturn smiled and said it’d never watch a sunset again if they were framed forever.
And as for the sun, it knows that warmth goes further when shared.
So I went back home and left the world to spin as it was.
I said goodbye to the planets and asked for their mailing address.
And so it was, for all the questions I had, the world had perfectly good answers.
Poem three: Nat Puga
I’m hungry, but I’m patient
It never bothered me
Waiting for what’s mine in this world
I’m starving but I’m biding my time- this interlude will also come to an end
I will be ready when it does
Like honey spread
on a warm loaf of bread
Poem Four: Louis Stenmark
"Perfectionism"
Perfectionist
Hands in a fist
Opportunities….
Always missed
Letting go
Take it slow
Doors will open
You can’t know
Don’t take no
