Emilia Mello is a filmmaker who was recently detained and deported from Nicaragua after attempting to document the student-lead protests against the government that have resulted in hundreds of deaths.

Her new documentary, "No Kings," about the Caiçara, an indigenous people that live off the grid on Brazil's southeastern coast, will be released in 2019.
