When pop quizzes come to us to through people we love, especially people we're married to, the temptation is to focus on them - their faults, their meanness, their motives. But those pop quizzes are about us, not them. The Holy Spirit is trying to heal us of wounds that are deeper and older than the offense in front of us.

What was your last pop quiz with someone you live with, particularly your spouse? What was under your anger or irritation? What does the Holy Spirit want you to know about that? Perhaps you'd like to ask Him, now. 

V | Verbalize (Pray about your thoughts and emotions.)

Ask Him. Tell Him everything in your heart right now. Take the risk, and ask Him to help you discern His message under the anger and hurt. 

Remembering that He loves you and that you are in His presence, talk to God about the particulars of your O – Observe step. You may want to write your reflections in your LOVE the Word® journal. Or, get a free journal page and guide in the right-hand margin.
