Poem: Remain invisible

You wanted to remain invisible,

so you never ran,

never put yourself out in the world,

worried about the eyes of traffic light corners

and the stories people would tell about your red cheeks

Running gave you no choice but to let your guard down,

Running showed your imperfections to the world,

imbalances of your stride,

and the weaknesses you kept hidden

You built yourself a container,

pulling yourself away,

and the world missed out

Imperfections are the most beautiful thing we have left in this world,

imperfections are the reason we run to nature,

please, don't make yourself invisible.
