Ian Williams is best known for his success in match racing. He is the only skipper to have won 6 World Championships and also has 6 National Championships and 3 Youth National Championships in the discipline.

He was the first Briton to win the match racing World Championships and as of the end of 2017, World Match Racing Tour Season is a 16 times winner on the Tour with 43 podium finishes.

I met with Ian Williams on July 15th, 2017 in Marstrand and had an interesting conversation about sailing, putting together teams, the logistics around a sailing event and what got him to start his career as a sailor.
