    Melophobia is the third studio album by American rock band Cage the Elephant. Recorded at St. Charles in Nashville, Tennessee and produced by Jay Joyce, the album was released on October 8, 2013, through RCA Records. It is also the final album that features lead guitarist Lincoln Parish.

    For Melophobia, Cage the Elephant attempted to distance themselves from comparisons of the sound that influenced them, shutting themselves off from as much recorded music as possible. Melophobia means "fear of music"; the band did not view the term literally, but rather thought of the term as "a fear of creating music to project premeditated images of self, like catering to cool, or making music to project an image of being intellectual or artistic or poetic, rather than just trying to be an honest communicator."

    Award-winning Todd Anstett has brought the world 'VRS - Be Kind, Rewatch'. He is also a meteorologist located in East Coast Canada. A slightly younger perspective on the show leanings to more of a modern rock presentation.

    'The Missing Album' is a must-listen for any blues fans.
    Erik solves the mystery of the fact this album seemed to have gone missing, yet again - I honestly couldn't find it online, nor could I find my CD of the same name.
    (it is actually titled "More Real Folk Blues : The Missing Album).

    He initially chooses 'Yield' but after we talk about it Vitalogy reveals itself to have had more impact on his life, overall, then 'Yield'.
    This album set off Erik's desire to collect vinyl, started him off on playing drums and was a part of the infamous "Columbia House 10 CD's for a Penny" deal.

  • The Tragically Hip : 'World Container'

    I would like to introduce Erik Armstrong to the podcast series.

    He has been living in Vancouver since he turned 19 and has managed to maintain a career in music ever since (he is an Audio Engineer and a Live Sound Tech).

    In late 2005 Erik was employed at The Warehouse - Bryan Adams' recording studio - as an Assistant Engineer...much to his delight Canada's most famous band, The Tragically Hip, entered the studio to record their 10th studio album "World Container".

    Erik shares his stories about his 6 weeks working closely with The Hip and producer Bob Rock...stories such as getting a drum lesson from Johnny Fay on the very drum kit Fay used on "Fully Completely"...Downie bouncing last-minute lyric changes off him...the band setting up and settling in to the studio and starting into 'Wheat Kings' as Erik walked around the room running cables...Erik even got offered a job to go back to the Hip's home studio 'The Bath House'.

    There are some hilarious stories about how Canadian and down(ie) to earth the band is, as Erik remembers this experience!

    October 17th, 2006 was the release date for this album....who would think that 11 years later the same calendar day would share Gordon Downie's last day on Earth.

    Well I started with the first cassette I ever purchased with my, at the time, $5/week allowance...1988's Bon Jovi 'New Jersey' !

    I was about 7 or 8 when this album came out - I had the kid mullet and liked me some hair rock.

    Some pretty funny stories in this episode.

    Glen and I also discuss our war stories for injured fingers for some reason.
